What the approval is, and how to check it
Our HYDRONYLON approval is certificate HAC-0007, and it runs until 4 September 2028. The manufacturer will confirm it to anybody who asks, and the accreditations page records it alongside anything we hold in future.
What it buys you is a guarantee with two layers and one document: ours for the work, with the manufacturer's product guarantee that we hold standing behind it. The liquid waterproofing page explains exactly how the two fit together.
Repairs and smaller liquid jobs stay within our South London boroughs. Larger programmes, commercial or industrial, run right across the capital and out into the South East, beyond that by arrangement, each one priced on its own merits.
Surfaces
What we lay it on
Most of what we install with it is an overlay: a complete new membrane over an existing covering whose surface has aged while the base below still holds.
- Felt, where we would otherwise be adding a second sheet covering and a fresh set of laps.
- Profiled metal, where we close every lap and fixing under one membrane rather than chasing them leak by leak.
- PVC single ply, once its welds and flashings have given up.
- Mineral surfaces: concrete and screed decks, balconies and walkways.
- Mastic asphalt, taken on only once a bond test on that particular roof says the membrane will hold.
Every surface is prepared and tested before a specification is written, and where one falls outside the manufacturer's documented cases, the quotation states what the guarantee covers.
Detailing
How we detail the parts that leak
Outlets and upstands
Outlets are where a roof either drains or fails, so the membrane is carried down into each one with reinforcement, leaving water a continuous surface to run off rather than a joint to find. Upstands go up to the height the detail needs and finish under a flashing or a trim, never stopped short at the bottom of a wall.
Plant bases and terraces
Plant frames and the penetrations around them are wrapped in one piece; lifting the plant itself stays with whoever maintains it. On a terrace the thresholds and the upstand behind each door come first, and we need balustrade fixing positions early, because every fixing is a hole the membrane has to close.
Honesty
Where it is not the answer
- A failed deck. Soft boarding or wet insulation under the covering means a new roof, and no membrane laid on top changes that.
- Weather it will not cure in. Where a roof has to be made watertight in a cold or wet spell, torch-on felt is the better call.
- Falls that no longer shed water. A new layer keeps the shape it is laid on, so ponding that needs new falls needs a rebuild first.
Process
How a job is priced and delivered
Priced after a look
Coming out and quoting costs nothing. A survey with a written condition report is chargeable, with the fee agreed before we visit and taken off the works if you go ahead; it is what a lender, a board or another contractor can rely on.
Delivered in order
Preparation and testing, then the details, then the field, laid in a weather window agreed with you before the date is fixed. At handover you receive photographs of every stage, the records of what was laid and when, and our workmanship guarantee in writing.

The kinds of roof it suits
Extensions and dormers with timber close to the detail, where no flame should go. Balconies and podium decks that are mostly threshold and outlet. Tired felt on blocks of flats that wants renewing without a strip. Frequently asked questions
Are you an approved HYDRONYLON installer?
Yes. Our approval under the manufacturer's scheme is certificate HAC-0007, running until 4 September 2028. Ask the manufacturer and they will confirm it; the accreditations page shows the same number and dates.
What does approved actually mean for me?
That the manufacturer has approved us to install its system, and that the product guarantee it issues can therefore stand behind our work on your roof. It does not make us part of the manufacturer, and it does not replace a survey: whether the system suits your roof is still decided on the roof.
Will I get the manufacturer’s guarantee?
Not in your own name. The manufacturer issues its product guarantee to us as the approved installer, and it cannot be transferred. What you receive is our workmanship guarantee, in writing, covering the work, with that product guarantee held behind it.
Do you install other liquid systems?
No. HYDRONYLON is the only liquid system our crews lay. If a specification you have been given names a different product, we say so when we price it rather than quietly substituting one for the other.
